About service

A thread eyelid lift is a non-surgical procedure in which special mesothreads are inserted into and above the eyelid area. The effect is comparable to blepharoplasty but with minimal invasiveness and a short rehabilitation period.
What is thread blepharoplasty?
With age, the skin around the eyes loses tone — wrinkles, dark circles, and puffiness appear, and the upper eyelid begins to droop. These and other aesthetic problems are traditionally corrected by blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery, which aims to remove sagging eyelid skin, “bags” under the eyes, and other age-related changes. However, this surgical intervention may result in scarring, inflammation, and, in rare cases, even visual impairment.
Fortunately, there is an alternative — eyelid lifting with mesothreads, or thread lifting. This popular cosmetic technique restores youth and beauty to the eyes without surgery, eliminating fine wrinkles and skin laxity in this delicate area. It helps correct both age-related and congenital imperfections, such as excess skin, the eye shape, or eyelid contour.
The method is minimally invasive. Special hypoallergenic threads are inserted to lift, compact, and support the soft tissues around the eyes and eyebrows. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia, without damaging blood vessels or nerve endings. Very small punctures are made to introduce the sutures, which heal quickly. There are no scars, and no lengthy recovery period is required.
The insertion of thin threads stimulates collagen production, forming a natural dermal framework — another rejuvenating and strengthening effect of mesothreads.
Indications
A thread eyelid lift is indicated in the following cases:
•        ptosis (drooping of the upper eyelid),
•        moderate to deep wrinkles in the periorbital area,
•        lower eyelid hernia,
•        asymmetry of the eyes,
•        stretching of the orbicularis oculi muscle,
•        drooping of the outer eye corners.
Effect after the procedure
The procedure provides a stable, long-lasting result comparable to classical surgery: signs of aging disappear, eyelid shape is corrected, sagging and asymmetry are eliminated (depending on the correction plan).
The delicate skin becomes firmer, denser, and more elastic, and the gaze appears open and refreshed. Threads placed under the eyes remove puffiness and dark circles; those implanted around the eyes smooth “crow’s feet” and deep creases. The upper eyelid can also be lifted.
The effect appears within a few weeks and increases over the next two months. The duration of the result depends on the thread type, patient age, skin condition, adherence to medical recommendations, and other factors.
Threads create a durable, biocompatible subcutaneous framework that lifts and supports the tissues in position. Beyond mechanical lifting, skin rejuvenation occurs from within. During the first months after implantation, collagen synthesis intensifies, and cellular regeneration is enhanced. Typically, the effect lasts 2–5 years, after which the procedure can be repeated.
To prolong the result, thread lifting can be combined with other techniques — collagen therapy, plasma therapy, mesotherapy, or biorevitalization. Eyelid thread lifting is often performed together with a general facial thread lift for optimal rejuvenation.
Advantages of thread lifting:
•        Immediate visible effect that increases over time: excess skin is removed, tissues are tightened, wrinkles are smoothed, and the gaze becomes brighter.
•        The implanted material is biocompatible, non-allergenic, and non-rejectable.
•        Minimal trauma and fast healing compared with surgery.
•        Long-lasting results — up to 5 years.
•        No visible traces; natural facial expressions are preserved.
•        No general anesthesia required; patients can return to daily activities the same day.
•        Few contraindications and side effects; low risk of complications in qualified clinics.
•        Absorbable mesothreads naturally degrade and are eliminated from the body.
•        Affordable cost and suitability for both women and men.
Types of mesothreads for eyelid lifting
Cosmetologists use two main types of threads for facial and body lifting:
•        Non-absorbable — e.g., polypropylene (smooth or with barbs/cones). Inserted at shallow depth to form a supportive framework. Effect lasts about 5 years.
•        Absorbable (biodegradable) — usually made of caprolactone or polylactic acid. Their surface often has barbs for fixation. They form a subdermal framework and stimulate collagen and elastin synthesis. These threads dissolve within 1–2 years and are eliminated naturally.
By configuration, threads can be smooth, spiral, braided, or barbed. This variety allows for an individualized rejuvenation plan.
Pre-procedure preparation
A preliminary consultation is conducted, during which the cosmetologist selects the thread type and number, correction scheme, and rules out contraindications. The doctor may also recommend combining the lift with other injection or hardware techniques.
Recommendations before thread lifting:
•        stop taking NSAIDs, anticoagulants, and antibiotics a few days before,
•        avoid alcohol for three days prior,
•        refrain from smoking on the day of the procedure.
Procedure steps
Although the method is technically straightforward, it requires a highly skilled practitioner to ensure proper placement and optimal results.
The procedure lasts less than an hour and includes:
•        visual examination and marking of thread implantation sites,
•        careful cleansing and antiseptic treatment,
•        application of local anesthetic (gel or spray),
•        thread insertion using a fine cannula from top to bottom, repositioning the skin,
•        tightening and trimming of the thread ends,
•        antiseptic treatment of punctures and application of an antihematoma ointment or cold compress.
During the procedure, the patient’s eyes remain closed. The process is generally well tolerated, and patients can resume normal activities within hours.
Post-procedure care
Recovery is quick and easy. It is recommended to:
•        treat puncture sites with chlorhexidine and panthenol for 2–3 days,
•        avoid cosmetics around the eyes for the first day,
•        sleep on the back to avoid pressure,
•        refrain from hot or alcoholic beverages for one week,
•        avoid hair removal, scrubbing, or any impact on treated skin,
•        minimize facial movements for several days,
•        avoid saunas, baths, pools, or tanning for 2–3 weeks,
•        limit physical exertion and avoid anticoagulants for several weeks,
•        avoid facial massage for two months.
Following these rules and individual medical advice enhances results and prevents complications.
Side effects
After implantation, slight swelling or hematomas may appear but subside within days. Mild tenderness can persist for up to a week; transient tingling for 3–4 weeks is also possible. In rare cases, slight tissue induration occurs but resolves spontaneously.
Possible complications
Although generally safe, complications may include thread migration or contouring (visibility through the skin), usually due to superficial placement or low skin density. Biorevitalization, plasma, or collagen therapy sessions can prevent this by stimulating collagen production and dermal thickening.
Inflammation may occur if hygiene or post-care instructions are ignored. All risks are minimized by consulting qualified professionals in licensed clinics and strictly following medical guidance.
Contraindications
Thread eyelid lifting is not recommended in the presence of:
•        acute or chronic diseases,
•        ophthalmological conditions,
•        local inflammation (conjunctivitis, blepharitis),
•        pregnancy or lactation,
•        autoimmune, somatic, or oncological diseases,
•        diabetes mellitus,
•        mental disorders,
•        hemophilia or coagulation disorders,
•        allergy to anesthesia or suture materials.
Thread eyelid lifting in Expert Clinics (Moscow)
At Expert Clinics, cosmetologists perform thread lifting using the Swiss Luxeface & Luxebody method, developed by Dorina Alekseevna Donich, MD. These threads act in three directions: regeneration – lifting – restoration.
Luxeface & Luxebody products meet high international standards, providing impressive rejuvenation and correction results. The threads are gently inserted under the skin, tightening and firming problem areas. Collagen-elastin fiber formation and hyaluronic acid production are stimulated, ensuring prolonged skin firmness and radiance.
The result lasts up to 3 years. The lift provides a natural effect, safety, and no rejection; the threads fully biodegrade within 6–36 months.
