About service

Oncological diseases are spreading rapidly. Every year in Russia, malignant tumors are diagnosed in approximately 600,000 patients, and about half of them die.
Among the causes of mortality, cancer ranks second after cardiovascular diseases. Any organ can be affected by a tumor, but some are more commonly involved.

Statistics in Russia over the past 2 years:

For women, the prevalence “ranking” of oncological diseases is as follows:

Breast cancer,

Gastric cancer,

Colon cancer,

Cancer of the lungs, trachea, and bronchi,

Tumors of the pancreas,

Tumors of the lymphatic and hematopoietic systems,

Ovarian cancer,

Cancer of the uterine body and cervix.

For men, the most common cancers are:

Tumors of the lungs, trachea, and bronchi,

Gastric cancer,

Prostate cancer,

Cancers of the urinary system,

Colon cancer,

Tumors of the lymphatic and hematopoietic systems,

Pancreatic cancer,

Rectal cancer,

Cancers of the oral cavity and pharynx.

What is cancer?
The body consists of billions of cells, each performing specific functions. Cancer cells are those that escape normal control mechanisms and acquire the ability to divide chaotically and spread throughout the body—this process is known as metastasis.

Oncology is, to a great extent, a preventable disease. With early diagnosis, regular medical check-ups, proper treatment, and lifestyle modifications, it is possible to avoid adverse consequences.

For example, in 40% of cases, smoking contributes to the development of malignant cells; in 20%—improper nutrition; in 10%—lack of physical activity (central obesity, poor metabolism); and in 5%—alcohol consumption.

You should consult a specialist if the following symptoms occur:

Unexplained symptoms:

Swellings, nodules, or deformities on any part of the body,

New moles or changes in pre-existing ones,

Blood in stool, urine, between menstrual periods, or after their cessation with age.

Persistent symptoms (lasting more than three weeks), especially if you smoke or have smoked previously:

Persistent cough, hoarseness, voice changes, shortness of breath,

Skin defects (rashes, wounds, and lesions that do not heal),

Constipation, diarrhea, difficulty urinating,

Unexplained weight loss,

Loss of appetite,

Pain in any part of the body without an apparent cause,

Marked weakness, rapid fatigability.

Cancer Prevention
A tumor (benign or malignant) is a genetic “malfunction” of a probabilistic nature. That is why tumors are detected not only in adults but also in children. The genetic factor in tumor development cannot be reduced. This disease is inherent to us as a biological species. However, it is possible to decrease the influence of external factors that accelerate the development of malignant tumors.

How to achieve this?

Study your family history. About 10% of all neoplasms are familial (hereditary), often including ovarian, breast, and gastric cancers.

Change your lifestyle. The most powerful factor responsible for a large number of neoplasms and cancer-related deaths is smoking. This concerns not only lung cancer, where the risk increases 20-fold, but also cancers of the lip, oral mucosa, intestine, pancreas, and rectum. This is due to the toxic substances obtained through smoking affecting the entire body.

Reduce excess body weight. Obesity has been shown to increase blood levels of factors that stimulate cell division. This is sometimes associated with hormonal changes caused by excess weight. Such a relationship exists, for example, with breast cancer.

Lead an active lifestyle. Engage in light physical activity 3–4 times a week. Regular exercise lowers the risk of cancer development (inflammatory factors in the blood are reduced).

Methods of Cancer Treatment
There are many different forms of oncology, but there is no specific treatment for each one. Therefore, the approach must be strictly individualized. The key is to pay close attention to any changes in well-being and to consult a physician promptly.

For example, women should undergo annual gynecological examinations and breast palpation. It is important to understand that cancer is not painful. Therefore, timely diagnosis may save your life.

Qualified physicians at Expert Clinics possess fundamental knowledge and extensive experience in the prevention and treatment of oncological diseases, as well as in the rehabilitation of patients after tumor removal. Each patient receives optimal treatment without the need to travel abroad, thanks to the clinic’s individualized approach and its ability to organize international online consultations with leading oncologists from Europe and the United States.
